I’m not a dev’s arsehole; I’m in far over my head trying to get a site going here but landed on NFS because I need both low ongoing cost and basic hobby-level e-commerce (vintage digital watch collection), which seems to mean I need to get my hands dirty.
As an anarchist, I was super keen on the ethos behind NFS, but the steepness of the learning curve was giving me second thoughts; I’m up to the WordPress setup config login, with no idea how far I have to go… and was starting to contemplate caving in to the fisher-price rip-off vibe.
But having read this inspirationally defiant fuck-you to the fascist filth, I’m going to redouble my efforts and slog it out. I don’t have a dog in this particular fight, but aside from solidarity for its own sake, I find it horrific how increasingly relevant that old Martin Niemöller poem is these days. Do people know longer know about the context of WWII anymore, FFS?
Keep fighting the good fight. Come to think of it, I should upgrade my membership to get some support, because now I’m way more comfortable about sending money your way.
]]>Reading the ToS yesterday is what encouraged me to move my art portfolio (features LGBTQ/adult artwork) to NFS. This blogpost + how thorough and easy to use the guides from NFS are have made this a webhost I feel confident to share with other LGBTQ/adult artists!
