Thanks for letting us know. It sucks when organisations are given this power and they abuse it for their gain.

Of course they can live with themselves – with that kind of profit margin they’re rolling in dough, and that’s all that matters to them.

Thanks for the advance notification. I was under the impression that domain registrations too (like most things related to technology) would become cheaper with time.

Anyway, this is not a huge increase in absolute terms (although the monopoly bit is worrying), but I’m glad I renewed my domains to the 10 year limit sometime ago.

Does this only concern Verisign TLDs, or all TLDs (like .org)?

Our registrar maintains a single price for all the TLDs we offer, indexed to .com (since it is something like 2/3rds of all registrations). -jdw
